My name is Julie and I am a single Mom to three amazing kids. My breast cancer journey started in October 2016 upon diagnosis of DCIS and a positive BRCA1 mutation. I underwent a bilateral double mastectomy on March 9, 2017. Subsequently I’ve had six additional surgeries with another coming up on 12.27.17 which hopefully is my last surgery.

 

I am just 35 yrs old but cancer began affecting my life 20 years ago when my Mom was diagnosed at 38 and passed away at 39 yrs old. I am so blessed for the Claudette's Kids Foundation and their scholarship they granted to me to help ease some of the financial burden with being off work almost this entire year to fight this battle. More importantly the prayers and kindness showered upon me has meant the world to me.
